Uniformed Bodies
Uniformed Bodies is a collective publication of fashion, art and discourse taking the sartorial element of uniform as its point of departure. Twenty-three contributors from different fields –fashion designers, visual artists, dress historians, museologists, photographers, art curators, theoreticians, performers, researchers, legal practitioners– converse with different aspects and functions of this special sartorial category. Workwear, military uniforms, formal and informal uniforms, proper and quasi-uniforms like the suit, invented uniforms but also local and national dresses are showcased and reinterpreted through texts and artworks of various media, forms and moods.
